⚔️ Action RPG Prototype – "The Kingdom Awaits!"

Platform: Windows | Language: English
Type: Prototype (Playable but not a full game)
Style: SNES-inspired / Top-down Action RPG
Genre: Adventure, Fantasy
Playtime: ~15–30 minutes

📜 About:

This is a non-commercial 2D Action RPG prototype.

Originally built using Sara Spalding and FriendlyCosmonaut tutorials, with additional features and improvements:

What’s inside:

  • ⚔️ Several unique locations (a seashore, woods, a cave and a village)

  • 🌗 Day/Night cycle system (unfortunately, this version only works in daytime. The updated version is not saved)

  • 🎵 Original soundtrack

  • 💼 Inventory, shop, equipment, weapons, loot

  • 🧩 One puzzle and a story intro

  • 💾 Save system with a detailed kingdom map and saved player data

  • 👑 A boss battle (you can now defeat the boss!)

🎮 See It in Action

🎥This is my old Gameplay Demo.

🧠 Notes from the Developer:

  • Once you enter the boss room, there's no turning back.

  • After defeating the boss, the game doesn’t continue — consider it the end of this prototype.

  • The game is complete as a prototype only — this is not a full project, just something I wanted to share and learn from.

Although who knows, it's quite possible that in the future I will complete the project.

🎮 Controls:

Please configure your preferred controls in the Options menu before starting. There are quite a few buttons (attack, inventory, map, interact, etc.).

🤝 Special Thanks:

Huge thanks to Sara Spalding and FriendlyCosmonaut for their tutorials and inspiration.
Also shout-out to the GameMaker team for providing such a powerful and accessible tool!
